NEW YOUTH THEATRE – SAFEGUARDING & CHILD PROTECTION STATEMENT

Introduction
At New Youth Theatre, the safety and wellbeing of the children and young people we work with is our highest priority. We are committed to providing a safe, supportive and inclusive environment where every child and young person can develop their confidence, creativity and skills through performing arts activities.

Our Commitment
• The welfare of children and young people is paramount.
• All workshop leaders, freelance facilitators and volunteers are carefully selected, vetted and undergo enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks.
• All New Youth Theatre centre’s receive safeguarding training and follow strict codes of conduct.
• We work in line with The Children Act 1989, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and guidance from local safeguarding authorities.
• Concerns are always taken seriously and acted upon promptly in partnership with statutory services.
