Auditions for Jane Banks in the Disney and Cameron
Mackintosh’s production of Mary Poppins at the Prince
Edward Theatre, Old Compton Street, London
On Saturday 8 September 2007 I attended the Urdang
Academy, 20 – 22 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London,
and auditioned to play the part of Jane Banks in Mary
Poppins in the West End, London and was given a recall
for the next day with a script to rehearse.
On the evening of Saturday 8 September 2007 my Mum
and I went to the Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s production
of Mary Poppins at the Prince Edward Theatre, Old Compton
Street, London. The cast, production, choreography and
scenery were absolutely awesome and I would love to
play Jane Banks.
On Sunday 9 September 2007 I re-attended the Urdang
Academy and auditioned throughout the day. Early evening
on the same day, at the end of the auditions, I was
one of the five remaining girls. Unfortunately I was
unsuccessful for this part.
I loved the Mary Poppins auditions, enjoying the
acting and singing that I did during the auditions and
I liked meeting lots of other friendly children.
What an experience
Amber, Congratulations on getting that far!!
