LAMDA Examinations
LAMDA (London Academy Of Music And Drama Art) acting exams give young actors of all ages the chance to study text, staging and characterisation across a vast array of material from different periods by numerous authors and writers.
New Youth Theatre has vast experience that spans over ten years of working with young adults and children. Yvette Kimber will ensure that each pupil will receive the one-to-one attention each pupil deserves. From beginners to advanced levels.
NYT offers Verse, Prose & Acting examinations which are now included in the UCAS tariff points system. Each student will be examined and graded which will lead to a nationally recognised qualification. I am delighted to inform you that as of April 2012 I shall be offering a LAMDA class, on a Saturday morning 10.30 – 11.30 am for Students aged 7 years + at The King's School, Grantham.  Children who would like to attend need to be competent readers.
From January to March I aim for the students to work towards being entered into the Lincoln Music & Drama Festival to gain valuable performance experience.  Then in December, pupils, at my discretion, will be entered for a LAMDA performance based exam.  These exams will be held annually.
The LAMDA syllabus specifically helps young people to be confident public speakers and learn excellent communication skills as well as performing.  LAMDA exams are also now recognised by Universities and carry a UCAS point tally.  If you would like further information on LAMDA please visit their website.
I shall be running to a 10 week term commencing 21st April and ending on 23rd June 2012.  Cost for each 10 week term will be £ 75 payable in advance.  Extra costs for Festival entries & Examination fees will apply. Please make cheques payable to ‘New Youth Theatre.’
If your child is interested in participating, please complete the booking form below & return it to Head Office by 24th March.  This will then allow me enough time to prepare material for each student.
I am very much looking forward to working with the students; if you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact Rachel Ashworth-Jerem at Head Office on 01522 787601 or by email, alternatively please have a chat with me after normal Saturday sessions
